Individual therapy is the process of meeting with a therapist in a private, safe, and confidential setting to talk. Examples of areas that are often discussed in therapy are:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Addictions

  • Interpersonal relationships

  • Mind, body and behavioural health

  • Stress and how to manage stress

  • Life transitions and change

  • Personal growth and meaning making in life

Sessions typically last 1 hour and are available in person or through online video call.

The first session is an opportunity for you to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable to continue working together. It is also a chance for you to discuss in more detail what you hope you work on through therapy as well as for any questions you have about the process answered.

By the end of the session, we will have determined whether working together will be a good fit for the both of us, after which if so, we will make arrangements for future sessions.

If working together is not a good fit, we will then discuss other resources or referrals that will better suit your needs.
